1. Fill out and return the Application for Scholarship
Award to the Office of Financial Aid if you wish to be considered for any United scholarship (including merit- and need-based
awards). To be eligible for financial aid, you must be enrolled at least half time (5 courses
per academic year for the M.Div. program, 4 courses
per academic year for the M.A. program).
2. Merit-Based Awards: All application
materials for merit-based aid must be received by January 31,
2009, and the matriculation interview must be completed before
February 28, 2009, for fall enrollment. Candidates must be admitted
by February 28, 2009, to be considered
for merit-based awards for the 2008-2009 academic year.
3. Need-Based Awards: Need-based financial
aid is awarded for courses required to complete the applicable
degree only; courses beyond degree completion are not
eligible for aid. To be eligible for consideration for
basic need scholarship awards, fill out United’s Application for Scholarship Award form, attach
a copy of your 2007 tax return, and complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
4. To be eligible for consideration for a Federal Student
Loan you must complete the FAFSA form. You
may bring the FAFSA to the Office of Financial Aid for electronic
filing or, if you wish, you can mail the FAFSA application. Mailing the application will
take two to three weeks for processing; electronic processing
takes about three days.
5. Once the student financial aid report has been
received from the federal government, pick up a Stafford Loan
Application from the Office of Financial Aid, complete the application,
and return it to United’s director of financial aid for processing. |
