Doug Federhart was ordained at Spirit of the Lakes/Minnehaha UCC
on June 19. Spirit/Minnehaha have called Doug to serve in a community
ecumenical ministry on their behalf and with the Minnesota Conference,
UCC. This includes his teaching and ministry as a spiritual director
at Sacred Ground Center for Spirituality in St. Paul; his work at
White Bear Unitarian Universalist Church as director of congregational
life; and occasional preaching and teaching at Spirit of the Lakes/Minnehaha
UCC.

MEMORY AND WITH GRATITUDE
Donald
R. Schultz ’70 died July 1 in Minneapolis. He earned
a Master of Divinity degree at United, was a licensed marriage and
family therapist for more than 35 years, and served on the board
of TRUST for many years. He is survived by his wife Marnie Mellberg.
Rev.
Kenneth Worthman ’52 died June 8 in Florida. He served
in the U.S. Navy, attended DePauw and Purdue universities, and Mission
House Seminary. After receiving a Bachelor of Divinity degree, he
was ordained in his home church in Indiana in 1952. Kenneth served
churches in Minneapolis and throughout the country. At age 84, he
served his last church in Arizona. Kenneth is survived by his wife
Gloria and their children.
Rev.
Eugene Grau ’44 died July 8 in Philadelphia. He attended
Mission House Academy, Mission House College and seminary and was
ordained in 1944. He received a Ph.D. from Hartford Seminary in
1964 and an honorary doctorate from Lakeland College in 1978. He
and his wife Dorothy were called to missionary service in Ghana
in 1946 and served there for 28 years. He then was called to serve
Brownback UCC in Pennsylvania until his retirement in 1988 where
he was named the first pastor emeritus of this church. Eugene’s
retirement consisted of numerous interim pastorates. He is survived
by his wife Dorothy and their children.
