Requirements of the Concentration

The following requirements enable Master of Divinity students to reach the learning goals of the concentration:

 

Educational Goals of the Concentration

In addition to achieving the basic outcomes of the Master of Divinity degree, a graduate of the Women’s Studies: Religion, Theology, and Ministry concentration will:

  • be able to articulate a broad understanding of the experiences of women in the history of Christianity and with how women have shaped, and been shaped by, the Christian tradition(s) and contemporary religious practice;
  • be able to articulate a broad understanding of the multiple ways women are participating in, and shaping, contemporary theological reflection;
  • be able to articulate in ecclesiology and a theology of ministry that takes account of the experiences and perspectives of women in the life of the church and in the church’s theological reflection.
