United Church of Christ Students

| In 1960, United was the first major institution
to be created by the newly formed United
Church of Christ. The very best of what it means for the
UCC to pray with Christ “that all may be one”
was embodied in the mandate that United be an ecumenical seminary,
grounded in the traditions from which the denomination was
born. UCC graduates serve the church in a wide range of ministries
throughout the country. Students will find a curriculum that
satisfies the requirements of the denomination and offers
these resources: |

- Five members of the resident faculty
and two members of the staff are United Church of Christ:
- Opportunities to relate
to and participate in local, association, conference, and
national settings of the UCC;
- UCC clergy act as mentors
in carefully chosen field placements;
- Reformation and UCC history
and polity courses offered by UCC faculty;
- Ecumenical worship at United means that UCC students,
faculty, staff, and clergy have the opportunity to lead
worship in their own tradition as well as experience worship in
a variety of styles and traditions.
- Worship resources including the New Century Hymnal and Book of Worship; and
- Scholarship opportunities
that can provide up to full tuition.
