| Off-Campus Programs |
In response to the need to make theological education more accessible
in a greater variety of places across the upper Midwest, United
has begun to offer educational programs in ways that do not require
its students to come to the Twin Cities campus for all or part
of the educational program they wish to pursue. |
Duluth Extension Program

|
In January 2007, the seminary’s accreditors approved its
establishment of an ongoing course offering site in Duluth
to serve northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. In
collaboration with partner churches in the Duluth area, United offers
two 3-credit Master’s level academic courses per term, for a
total of four a year. Courses
currently on offer in Duluth.
For more information about
enrolling in courses at Duluth contact Glen
Herrington-Hall, director
of admissions.
Online Courses
In the spring 2008 term, United offered its first online Master’s level course. As other online courses
become available, they will be posted here. The seminary
is committed to making a portion of its offerings available in
this way, while adhering to the highest standards
of quality in education.
Community Programming Online and Outside the Twin Cities
Every year United’s Community Programming offers
workshops and other events at locations outside the
Twin Cities metropolitan area (e.g., Alexandria, Minn.;
Des Moines, Iowa) or online. Community Programming offerings near you
this year.
Articulation Agreements with Other Educational Programs
United has concluded articulation agreements with the
Master of Arts in Theology program at Lakeland College in Wisconsin
and with lay and licensed ministry programs of the United Church
of Christ in South Dakota and North Dakota (Yankton College Licensed
Ministry Program), Wisconsin (Wisconsin Lay Academy), Iowa
(LEARN), and Nebraska (ELM). The agreements allow students
who complete work in these programs and are admitted to Master’s
programs at United to receive transfer credit or advanced standing
for their work in these programs, advancing their progress toward
their degree at United.
