Students come to United from all walks of life and prepare to serve the church and the world as pastors, lay leaders, denominational leaders, teachers, artists, directors of non-profit organizations, chaplains, and members of other professions.

In the educational experience at United, you will find:

  • Curricula that are recognized for their careful integration of academic knowledge, practical skills, spiritual strength, and ethical commitment on which students can build vibrant and relevant ministries.
  • Commitment to supporting our students as they discern and prepare to live their call to ministry, whatever form it may take.
  • An ecumenical, multifaith, multiracial community in which open dialogue across differences is learned and cultivated.
  • An emphasis on the ability to analyze the context of ministry.
  • An approach that teaches student HOW to think, because our graduates will need to be creative and innovative.
  • A foundational commitment to peace and justice, grounded in the life and teachings of Jesus.
  • The integration of the arts with theology, founded on the understanding that the arts can help express the infinite nature of God.
